Helms Port Beauty

I love, love, love how this home turned out!  I am so pleased with the lovely mix of serene, coastal, and rustic.  When I first met with my client to discuss her new build she had chosen her wall color and flooring, but everything else was a blank slate.  I began with this “vintage” rug from Pottery Barn.  They really did a beautiful job creating a worn patina.  Next we created a custom, amazingly comfy down filled sofa in a durable, kid-proof fabric.

This Gabby coffee table is a win on all fronts, it is as beautiful as it is durable.  Perfect for my clients and their 3 little boys!Blalock 2Blalock 3

Would you believe I found this chair at Home Goods?!  I was thrilled.  The fabric is durable and it is very plush.  I’m also a huge fan of this little bone inlay table.  It’s a work of art.  Have you noticed that I like creating reading nooks for others?  If only I liked to sit still long enough to read…

We surrendered to hanging the TV over the mantle.  I was appeased by getting to hang my client’s beautiful oil painting in their built in.

A shot of the dining room.  I love a showstopper light fixture.  I also used a durable flatweave rug and a rustic table because we live in the real world.

We used complimentary lighting in the nearby kitchen.  I love how the black hardware grounds the space.  The island is going to be the perfect spot for their boys to eat breakfast and do homework.

We were able to infuse so much character into this space.  What a joy to work with these clients, whose home really tells their story.  This was really a fun one!
