Moreland Drive Last Round

Just a few more shots to show you of this fabulous home. The screened porch runs the width of the back of the house and it’s glorious!  We installed a gas fireplace (the plan is to mount a TV over it soon) and tiled the wall up to the ceiling.  We kept the modern aesthetic skipping a mantle.

The size of the porch called for doubles.  I bought 2 loveseats and 2 coffee tables!  My vision for this area was to create a spot for my clients to sit with their feet up, by the fire and catch up over while the kids play in the yard.  I used a large Dash & Albert outdoor rug for durability.

I also wanted to create a space for outdoor eating.  In Wilmington you can eat outside 75% of the year.  We stained the concrete, which gave it a beautiful gloss that I love.  I chose a beefy table and all weather metal chairs.

Just off the screened porch is the mudroom.  I just wanted to show off some of Christian Anguish’s work.  He built us a crisp, clean, functional space based off of my simple sketch.  I added an upholstered cushion (in Sunbrella fabric) for a cushy spot to sit and take off muddy boots. A space like this really allows for the mud and messy essentials to have a space of their own (that isn’t the middle of the living room floor).  We’re still working on this concept at my house…..
