Donnely Living Room

Donnely Living Room

I am so excited to show you this living room.  I absolutely love it.  I worked on this home through the building process with my client.  It is so rewarding to see everything come together after all the months.  So, here’s room where they live!

We chose Ben Moore Classic Gray for the walls, which is really a favorite of mine for its warm, but clean quality.  We focused in on the words natural, clean, textured, & collected.  I loved the contrast between the cleans whites and the warm, deep browns.  Enjoy!

Here is the fireplace straight on.  For the fireplace surround I chose a marble fan and I LOVE it.  My client and her husband found someone who makes these mantles locally.  The wood was salvaged from the Cape Fear river.  How’s that for a conversation piece!

We chose accessories with simple or no color, but lots of interest in texture.  Am I the only one who gets a little giddy when I look at that tile!?

This is the corner nook.  This chair is a gem that I found on Craig’s List.  I stripped the existing fabric, had it painted, and then reupholstered.  My client had something like this in mind the whole time and her vision was such a success.  The contrast in the art is just fantastic!  And who doesn’t need a petrified wood drink table…. I could go on and on….

We flanked the sofa with these simple and updated wingbacks in a neutral fabric.  I layered a cow hide over a thick, nubby jute and the coffee table has a brassy bamboo base with a marble top.  A serious mix of texture and materials.

For the sofa, my client fell in love with this bench cushion slipcovered frame.  The bench cushion really keeps it from every looking fussy or cluttered with pillows.  It’s also down filled, so it’s a perfect napping spot.

Seriously, this one of my very favorites!  Thanks for reading.
