05 Mar Moreland Drive New Build
Welcome Home! My clients and I worked on their beautiful Landfall home for about 9 months together. It was a Hallelujah moment when the project came to a close. Our hearts had been wrapped up in this home for quite some time and it was time to hand it over to the wonderful family. I know they were glad when it stopped being a work zone and started being their beloved home! My good friend Jodi Adams worked with the clients to design the layout of their home. She chose some things and then I came in and chose the remaining fixtures and all the colors, furnishings, and interiors.
Here is their spacious foyer. We wanted to achieve a high contrast between the airy pale gray tones that we used through the house and the dramatic dark floors and front door.
Just off the foyer there is a piano room with a pretty little sitting spot.
The main living area is at the center of the home. From the first time we met, my client asked for a huge cozy sectional that was inviting without being frumpy. Mission accomplished! We used a Robin Bruce, down filled, custom sectional. The legs are contemporary and the fabric is fantastic. It looks like linen, but it’s far more durable! I used limestone topped end tables. The rug is light, but made of jute for durability.
Can you believe that 20 foot ceiling! The client was on the fence about carrying the material for the fireplace surround all the way up. I don’t push people often, but that was one thing I pushed for and we all just love it! We chose a modern face for the fireplace with no mantle and used marble tiles. We also went modern on the wire stair railing. It offers great contrast to all of the softness in the room. And isn’t the fan just amazing?! Go big or go home, right?
The client’s previous home was very ornate and had a much darker palate. I painted and reupholstered these family chairs so they could still use them.
Because the sofa is so large I chose to use 2 console tables, head to head for the lamps.
Beautiful details are so fun!
That’s all for now, I’ll have the dining room, powder room, and screened porch for you next time! Thanks for stopping by.
